Vote Kevin to the Quad!

Hello there!

Thank you very much for stopping by my website so I can further jockey for your vote to send me to the 70th IATSE Quadrennial Convention this summer.

Yesterday, you should have received an email from TrueBallot with the subject line: “IATSE 479 Delegate Election 2025”. This is your unique link to cast ten votes among a field of my fellow Local 479 nominees. Only TEN of us can go.

I humbly ask for your vote to send me as a delegate to the convention and here is why:

I have been a member of IATSE Local 479 for eleven years now (jeez time flies!), and ten out of those eleven years, I have dedicated my personal time outside of working on sets, full time, as a Grip, serving this membership. I have served in the capacities of - Young Workers Committee Chair overseeing six super fun kickball tournaments, raising over $125,000 dollars for various local charities, providing fun events for our members to engage with each other in building relationships, community, and solidarity within our local; Executive Board Member both as Labor Delegate to the AFL-CIO & General Secretary-Treasurer for a cumulative five years where I got to help make decisions through tough times to benefit our members such as increasing the vacation fund to its highest payout during COVID, and spearheading the organizing of our Local for the IA Strike of 2021 (that we narrowly avoided).

I currently serve our local as an Assistant Business Agent not only Field Reppin’ shows (where you might have seen my tall goofy self), but I also am Co-Chair for our Negotiations Committee. I was able to go out to Los Angeles last year and being apart of the process with our International Negotiations Committee and fellow Business Reps from other IA Locals in achieving the improvements to the ASA contract. With your vote, I will be able to meet in person with my fellow Business Reps, and the International Negotiations Committee to strategize and prepare for this fall’s negotiations on the Commercial Agreement and the Low Budget Theatrical Agreement.

I humbly ask for your vote to allow me to go to the Quadrennial Convention to continue my work as a leader for our Negotiations Committee and continue to represent you, our membership, and our interests.

Thank you for your consideration, and reading this far, and I hope to see you at the Hall or on set. ;)

In Solidarity,

Kevin Cheatham
